How I became a Disney Dork -- Part 3

The girls were truly exhausted after Days 1 & 2 of our Disney adventure (like, Gracen didn't even wake up when we put pajamas on her exhausted). Toby and I decided we would let the girls sleep in on Day 3 and just head to the park when they woke up! Good thing we did because both girls slept until almost noon! Noon people! My early risers are almost always up by 8:30 at.the.latest. They were very sleep deprived!

Once they woke up, we fed them and then headed straight for Animal Kingdom! Leighton insisted on wearing her Tangled hat from the day before ;)

Once we arrived at Animal Kingdom we went to get our fast pass for the Kilimanjaro Safari then we headed to The Lion King Show. We got there about 20 minutes early for the show so we had to wait before we went in the theatre. It was hot & muggy and the girls were restless BUT the show was awesome and worth the wait. We heard they are retiring the show so we were so glad we got to see it. It was amazing. It even kept Gracen's attention the whole time which is quite a feat :)

After the show we walked back to the Safari and the girls had a snack. I love that Disney has so many healthy options and that the girls were able to load up on fresh fruit whenever they were hungry. Once they finished their snack it was Safari time!

The Safari was awesome. We saw lots of animals (Zebras, Hippos, Ostriches, Giraffes, Monkeys, etc.) and it was nice to be able to sit down and enjoy looking at them ;)

We ended up getting stuck on our Safari for about 15 minutes because one of the animals (I can't remember what it is called) crawled halfway under our tram. He happened to be right beside our row so we had a very up close and personal look at this guy.

Leighton REALLY wanted to meet Pocahontas while we were there and we had some time to kill before she made her next appearance. So, we decided to walk around and take in the scenery. The girls had a good time playing on the drums we found on our little adventure.

The girls were not into posing for pictures so Toby happily stood in for me hehe. I thought the greenery in the background was so pretty. He looks cute too :)

They were down to sit in their stroller and look at me :) The tree in the background was pretty amazing.

We headed over to Pocahontas a little early and ended up being first in line! We had a funnel cake while we waited and then it was our turn! She was beautiful and teeny tiny! Leighton loved her (of course) and meeting her made her Animal Kingdom adventure :)

Once Lei got her "Princess" fix for the day we decided to leave Animal Kingdom and park hop over to Hollywood Studios. Lei and Toby surprised me with this picture they took while I ran to the restroom. She is so funny!

We didn't end up getting to Hollywood Studios until almost 6:00 p.m. This was WAY too late to get to this park. Disney tip: If you are park hopping to Hollywood Studios, go there first!

We headed straight to the Disney Junior Show only to find the last show had already started. Total bummer. Toby and Lei raced to try and meet Wreck It Ralph who we were told would be out until 6:15 but in fact he went in at 6 :( Lei was super disappointed. Total bummer #2! She was happy she found a picture of Stitch!

We were also pretty bummed to find out that the Toy Story Mania ride was all out of fast passes and the wait time was 90 minutes. Since this is pretty much the only ride for little kiddos we were really kicking ourselves for not getting there earlier. Disney tip: If you go to Hollywood with little kids grab a fast pass for Toy Story Mania as soon as you get there! Apparently they go quick!!

Since we weren't having much luck with character meetings, shows or rides we decided to head to get some food! We headed to Pizza Planet (the arcade pizza parlor from Toy Story) for dinner & managed to take a few pictures on our way there (of course we did hehe). Yes, Toby is standing in front of the Pharmacy...yes, we are dorks!

Pizza Planet was fun and both girls ate great. I guess you can't go wrong with Pizza. It was the same pizza that was in our food court at the resort. Has anyone else noticed all the food at Disney is the same everywhere? Toby tried to win a toy for the girls but failed. He usually can win those things no problem so we think the Disney ones are rigged ;)))

After dinner we headed to the Honey I Shrunk the kids set for the girls to play but once we got there we found it was also closed. Disney rant...WHY does everything close so early at Hollywood? What is the point of keeping the park open late if everything is going to be CLOSED...rant over.

At this point Leighton was dying to ride something....ANYthing. Since the Toy Story ride wait was 90 minutes and she was too short for the Rockin Rollercoaster we asked her if she would want to ride a "dark ride that bounces up and down, kind of like a roller coaster." She eagerly said YES! So I sent Toby & Gracen to get some fast passes for the Tower of Terror. Leighton and I went to stand in line to meet Woody & Buzz!

The wait to meet them was 50 minutes long and this was by far the longest we had waited for anything on our Disney trip (God Bless the Fast Passes!). We were happily surprised to see lots of photo ops while we waited in line :)

When it was time to meet Woody & Buzz, Gracen & Toby appeared at the exit and the cast member let them in! We ended up getting a cute family picture but it's on my photo pass card... Leighton was nervous to meet them I think because they are so big haha but she loved it and talked about it all night long. She also asked me for a "WEALLY BIG Woody with a string out his back" for her birthday. He made an impression :)

Right when it was time for our Tower of Terror fast pass it started POURING rain. Toby and I whipped out the ponchos and tried to stay dry (it didn't work lol).

Leighton and I ran to ride first (we got a rider switch pass for Toby) and we walked right on. Before you officially stand in line they take you in this room at the hotel and show a little movie and turn off the lights, etc. Leighton was silent the entire time. She never told me she didn't want to ride but I could tell she was second guessing her decision lol. I think the look on her face once we got on the ride said it all.

The ride was a little scarier than I thought it would be. Well, not really scary but creepy and pitch black at times. I was expecting just a straight drop but it was more of a ride with several drops...in the dark. I was holding on to Leighton for dear life, lol. The picture of us on the ride shows it lol. (That's us in the middle right...me cowering over my sweet baby).

When we got off the ride everyone was asking her if she liked it. I don't think she actually spoke for a few seconds, she just shook her head, "no." On the way out I wanted her to take a thumbs up picture because she did it but that serious face pretty much summed up her feelings lol.

She did say she was glad she tried it even if it made her a little scared. Bless her heart. She also said she was taking Daddy on the ride but after a bathroom break and some thinking it over she had second thoughts. After he headed to ride it alone she said she wished she had gone with him to ride again. Obviously she had some mixed feelings on the Tower of Terror.

We ended the night with a short stop at one of the gift shops. Leighton was thrilled to find a big Stitch and Gracen actually found something she wanted too! A tiny Donald Duck. I may truly never be able to figure that child out ;)

I gave the girls baths before bed and they woke up rested and clean hehe. We headed over to the food court for a farewell breakfast before we packed up and headed to the beach. We were sad to say goodbye to our Disney fun but we also pretty excited to see the ocean.

Disney World was truly amazing. I can't wait to take my princesses back! Maybe 2015?!! :)
