Oh my word nine months. Hayes man you are such a light in our lives. Always smiling, laughing, cuddling, squealing...always loving. Our big lovable baby boy!
Measurements:
Height: 29.25 inches (85th percentile)
Weight: 22.5 lbs (90th percentile)
Head: 47 cm (95th percentile)
Eating:
Hayes is fully weaned. Mixed emotions but it was the right time for us. I quit pumping a few days before our family vacation so I am about 2 weeks pump free and he hasn't nursed in over a week. It was a very smooth transition for all of us. He's happy and still growing and even though I do have moments where I miss nursing I know it was the right decision. He had lost so much interest in nursing that getting him to latch and stay latched was a task. He's a busy guy.
So now that we are a bottle only household he gets 8oz of formula when he wakes up, two six ounce bottles during the day and another 8oz bottle before bed. His favorite meal of the day is breakfast. He gets bananas mixed with oatmeal (switched to Happy Bellies organic oatmeal and love it) and never ever leaves a bite. For lunch he gets a yobaby organic yogurt and usually a few bites of whatever I am eating (pita, hummus, cheese, turkey, grilled cheese, applesauce, eggs, toast, etc.).
For dinner we've started just feeding him whatever we are eating since he's lost interest in babyfood and pouches (boo because they were so easy). He will eat anything. He feeds himself little bites of hamburger, chicken (loved this), zucchini, spaghetti squash, broccoli, mashed potatoes, mandarin oranges, strawberries, shredded cheese (his favorite), green beans.
I got a travel placemat from Target (Neat Solutions) that I keep in the diaper bag and take with us when we go out to eat. It sticks on the table and then we just put little pieces of food on it for him to eat and stayed entertained haha. Easy to clean and makes things SO easy.
Sleeping:
Pretty good sleeper but does stir and whimper some at night. I try and not go to him unless he is full on crying but I stay awake watching him on the monitor until he falls back asleep. If he does get really upset I will go in and usually a cuddle and some rocking will get him back to sleep. And if nothing else works a small 4 oz bottle will always do the trick lol. He goes to bed between 8 and 8:30pm and gets up around 8am.
He takes a great morning nap (1.5-2 hrs) and another afternoon nap (usually 1 hour). He sleeps best in his bed with his sound machine but will fall asleep in his stroller and car seat if we are out. He really is such an easy baby to take out in public. I am SO thankful for this.
Personality:
Easy going, laid back, happy, wild, observant, cuddly, smiley, coy and sometimes shy. SO dang lovable it is not even funny. I can't tell you how many times a day our family (Me, Tobe, Lei or Gray haha) says "Hayes is so cute!" We are kind of obsessed with him.
He is very busy since he started crawling (about two weeks ago). He is into EVERYTHING. Keeping up with him is a full time job. Recently he has started bear crawling with his back legs straight. He must think it makes him go faster. He is a man on the move. He just started trying to pull up on any and everything...couches, chairs, tables, baskets, boxes, cases of toilet paper haha...anything he can crawl to.
Details:
He just got over a double ear infection and was pretty pitiful. It's easy to tell when he doesn't feel good because his whole demeanor changes from happy go lucky to sad and teary. Poor guy. We've been giving him zytrec at night to help with the seasonal allergies that are in full swing here. He wears size 12-18 months in clothes and size 3-4 shoes depending on the brand. He's a big guy (couldn't get his 9 month onesie to button for the pictures haha). Still only has 7 teeth and he doesn't seem to have more coming.
His hair is longer on top and light blonde. His eyes are still blue but look like they may be getting a greenish tint to them.
Siblings:
Shew! Having three kiddos is keeping me busy these days. Especially now that Hayes is mobile. Some nights after everyone is in bed I try and think back on the day but it's just a blur. Go, go, go, seems to be the motto for spring.
Also, getting all three together for a good picture is much harder since Hayes became a wild man! The child will seriously not sit still. And he has to touch everything that is near him...especially his sister's long pretty hair ;)
Sibling stats:
Hayes is still the biggest and his head is so much bigger than the girls' were haha. Big bobble headed boy.
Leighton's nine months measurements:
Height: 28 inches (80th percentile)
Weight: 20.6 lbs (80th percentile)
And Gracen's:
Height: 28.5 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 21.6 lbs (90th percentile)
Head: 44 cm (50th percentile)

and a picture of the Hayes man to compare...
Month nine with the Hayes man...BUSY. Our guy has the whole world to explore and he knows it :)
