The girls came downstairs and headed straight for their baskets. They love a good surprise!

Each basket had just a few goodies in them. I have been collecting for a few weeks now. Both have PB beach towels with their names monogrammed (Leighton has Spiderman & Gracen has a mermaid), a pair of pink canvas Tom's, a DVD, a couple of books and a little bit of Easter candy :) I tried to be more practical this year & get stuff that they actually need versus little toys & too much candy.
Gracen decided to try and hoard all the mini eggs. She ran as fast as she could and hid on the stairs. We all (even Leighton) had a good laugh. Sometimes little sis is ridiculous!

Leighton is SO into superheroes right not. Mostly Spiderman, Superman & Batman. She loved her Spiderman towel but seemed more excited about these little washcloths I got at the Dollar Tree. It's the little things I guess.
Gracen was happy with her chocolate bunny. The girl loves a good chocolate treat :) I really wanted to find a Caillou toy (her newest obsession) but gee those toys are expensive or maybe I'm just cheap! She did have some Curious George books (her second favorite thing). She is so sweet!
Oh I am so thankful to have these sweet girls to spoil with little goodies on Easter. Their smiles and giggles make my heart smile.
This Easter is extra special for me because Leighton is really starting to understand the meaning of the day. On the way home from school this week she said, "Mama do you remember that Easter is about Jesus??" I told her I did and asked her if she knew who Jesus died for. "YES Mama, Jesus died for you and me and sissy (and then she named everyone she could think of!)" It was a really special moment for me and I was so proud of her for wanting to talk about it. Makes my heart smile BIG!
Happy Good Friday and Easter. The gift of Jesus is alive everyday but Easter reminds me that because of Jesus our life just begins at death!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
