Birthday Fun!

All Leighton wanted for her birthday was to have her cousin Lyla (and BFF) come spend the night at her house. So, we made that happen and added a few other things to make the night memorable ;)

Friday night we took the girls downtown for some birthday fun. My sister Kylee made the trip too. Leighton was on Cloud 9! Before we left the house Leighton opened her first clue to tell us where we were going. They thought this was so fun.

Clue #1...PIZZA! We headed to Impellizzeri's Downtown. The girls loved walking around and playing by the fountains at the YUM Center.

Gracen tried SO hard to keep up with the big girls all night. She was in love with Lyla and wanted to be right in the middle of them all night. Sweet little sis.

After pizza it was time for Clue #2...Ice Cream! Perfect surprise for my little sweet tooth :)

They loved sitting outside at their own table. It was so funny to watch them chit chat while they ate. I think my favorite thing about having Leighton & Lyla together is listening to their conversations. So so adorable and growing up SO fast.

When the girls were finished with their frosty treats it was time for Clue #3, our final one of the night...A Carriage Ride! They were SO excited about this! They kept saying, "It's gonna be SOOOO fun!"

The horse's name was Belle and the girls really loved that! They kept smiling and looking around. It was so cute. Belle did get spooked by a loud boom and took off as fast as she could go. It was definitely unexpected and a little scary haha. Even the driver was surprised. Gracen said her favorite word..."WHOA!"

Eventually Gracen decided she HAD to sit by Lyla. Oh how she loves her :) Leighton was relaxing and enjoying the ride :)

After the ride, the girls had a chance to pet Belle. Lyla and Gracen loved this, Leighton, not so much lol. I'm sure we will be taking a ride again soon. They loved it.

The girls were still eager for more fun before we headed home so we walked them down to the waterfront. The bugs were crazy by the water and Leighton was NOT happy about that. They did love looking at the water and climbing the stairs. Lyla looked out at the river and said, "Man, how do you think God filled all of that?" Sweet little innocence, love her.

Since it was starting to get dark after our short walk we decided to head back to the house and let Leighton open one gift early. Monsters Inc. the movie! Daddy also had Monsters cereal and little Sulley for her. The girls cuddled up in our bed and watched the movie and ate their snacks. I am so excited for them to have sleepovers for many years to come. Love these sweet girls together!

Toby and I spent the rest of the night getting things ready for the morning for our birthday princess! I love making her birthday special. Of course she wanted everything Spiderman!

Leighton surprised us all when she slept until almost 10am Saturday morning! The girl knows how to make the most of a birthday :) When our sleeping beauty finally woke up it was time to go downstairs & check out her loot. She was very shy about having the attention on her but was excited to see her new convertible.

Cutie pie was so excited to finally be 4! She kept saying, "I'm weally four now!" She opened a few gifts and then we had breakfast before leaving the house for our second day of adventures :)

Before we got ready to leave the girls had to take a spin in the new car. So funny to watch them drive! I felt like I was getting a glimpse of what her 16th birthday will be like ;)

After the girls got ready it was time for our first clue of the day. They were so happy for more clues!

Clue #1......SKYZONE! An indoor trampoline park :)

At first I just had Leighton & Lyla jumping but little sis was having NONE of that! I would've bought her a ticket from the start but thought she was too little to jump. Gracen put on the jump shoes (that were two sizes too big) and loved every second. Wild women in action!

Foam pit time! Little sis was NOT happy when it was time to get out of the foam. Whew meltdown trigger for sure!

Jumping wore the girls out! 30 minutes was plenty long enough for the little ones! Clue #2....Hibachi! Leighton's favorite!

The girls ate so good at lunch. Leighton got steak (her favorite food) and ate every single bite. With full bellies we headed to Clue #3...makeovers at Club Tabby!

Leighton was really nervous about getting the makeover. She actually opened the clue at skyzone but decided she'd rather eat before we went. I think it was her way of stalling lol. I told her she did not have to do it but we would still go and check it out! She seemed on board with just looking :) When Lyla decided to go first, Leighton started to soften a little but it real took some persuading to get her to actually do it. She is so nervous to try new things but almost always loves it once she gets the courage to try. We always try to push her to try new things without making her feel pressured.

After Lyla was all dolled up as a rockstar, Leighton decided she was ready. She choose Princess. Of course she did :)

They turned out SO cute and very, very colorful. Leighton looked like strawberry shortcake with all that PINK hair.

Next it was time for Clue #4, the last one! Leighton got to choose the last activity. Where did she choose??? The Disney Store of course ;) What did she choose??? A Spiderman collection pack haha and Lyla chose a Jake & the Neverland Pirates tshirt. Two girly tomboy princesses. Love them! Gracen was happy eating a sucker!

After a little shopping the girls all had a cookie and we headed home. It was truly a magical 4th birthday for my special little lady and we were so happy Lyla came to share in the fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEIGHTON LAYNE!

Up next...a Spiderman Birthday Party!
