Fall Happenings...

So... this little family blog of mine has been quite neglected since baby boy arrived. Let me be the first to tell you that life with three kids is out of control. Like it's cuckoo most days around these parts ;) Hayes will be four months tomorrow (how is this possible?? I.DONT.KNOW.) and life is flying by. We've had a lot of happenings this fall and since winter is fast approaching (we have our Christmas trees up already...) I figure I better share those happenings now before it's too late :)

Are you ready? Here we go ;)....

We started October with Toby's 32nd birthday! We grilled sliders and the girls made him a UK cake (strawberry cake with blue icing). We opened gifts and spent the night together as a family. It was a good day :)

Two days later, Toby and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! Toby always says, "Born on the second, married on the 4th," hehe, dork! Anyway, we had a kid free dinner in Lexington and after went to watch the UK game. Hard to believe we've been married SIX years (have been together 9) and have three kids. We are old...but happy :)

That same weekend we celebrated Toby's Grandmom's 90th birthday! Leighton was amazed that Great-Grandmom was 90! She still talks about it :) We had a big family celebration at the Chop House. This was also the first time Grandmom had met baby Hayes. Grandmom has three boys of her own, the oldest being Toby's Dad and Hayes' middle name is Robert after Toby's Grandfather, Toby's Dad and also Toby. Hayes was the first boy born in the family since Toby so it was a special meeting. I think she was surprised at how big he was :) Another special family day...

The next couple of weekends were less busy, but still fun :) We watched UK games, went to church, put pumpkins out on the porch, went on a spooky walk on Hillcrest Avenue in our PJs, painted pumpkins and went to Gracen's fall festival at school. All fun fall activities :)

We also squeezed in a trip to Boo at the Zoo. The girls wore costumes we had at home. Leighton was an Ice Queen, Gracen was Sofia the First and Hayes was a Puppy. Cutie pies!

The next week was a big one! My cousin Chelsi and her new baby, Rosco, came to Kentucky from DC for a visit. And our boys/bffs/bros/lovies got to meet for the FIRST time. Our boys are just a month apart and destined to be best buds! I was SO excited to see those two together!

They were so funny together and both refused to look at the camera at the same time. Hayes wouldn't take his eyes off him. So so sweet. Gah!

Later that weekend we had a family (kid free) day at Keeneland. It was the last day of the fall meet and the weather was perfect.

While Rosco was in town we had a impromptu fall photo shoot in my Aunt & Uncle's backyard :) We took about a hundred pics but I'll just leave you with a few of my favs ;)

Then we headed to a local pumpkin patch. The weather was absolutely gorgeous!!! After the patch it was time to say goodbye to Chelsi and Rosco ;-( Can NOT wait until Christmas when their little family returns and the boys are reunited.

The next weekend was Halloween! Our little crew dressed up as the Muppets! Leighton had the idea to by Fozzie the Bear (her favorite) and the costumes kind of took off from there. Gracen was Miss Piggy (perfect with her curly hair) and Hayes was Kermit. We went trick or treating in Lexington (does anyone else think we should just get a condo there LOL) and it was freezing!!! The girls collected some candy and had fun sleeping over at Grammy & Poppy's.

My cousin Chase was in town from NYC and surprised my girls by dressing up as Spiderman :) My girls LOVE Chase and were over the moon when Spidey revealed his true self :)

Later that night (wayyy past our bedtime lol) Toby and I went to see Garth Brooks! It was a great show and we had the best time together.

Before we headed home we got in one more visit with Chaser and I took Hayes to meet his future girlfriend! My best friend Becky has a little girl and her and Hayes are just a week apart. Future couple alert ;-)

And that about catches you up on our fall! Fun times, fun memories, fun, fun, fun!
