Then, after we got home, we had our family over on the Fourth of July for a Star Wars cookout and then we all went to watch fireworks together. It was a great day. Look at my sweet six year old! She requested Leia hair :)
Her biggest obsession (well one of them anyway lol) is Star Wars! Darth Vader actually (I know, how is she my child??).
How is it possible that my sweet baby girl is SIX! She has lost three teeth and has four others loose. She loves to read and writes stories in her journal everyday. She is growing up so fast and right before my eyes.
She is definitely a tomboy and loves a lot of boyish games. She loves wrestling and playing outside, dancing to Michael Jackson, soccer and Grease & Teen Beach Movie 2. Her favorite color is blue. She loves her Daddy and anything he likes.
But at times she shows her girly side...her love for frilly skirts and baby dolls. Makeup, nail polish and fixing her hair...She has requested no bows for a few weeks now but still obliges me for church or special occasions :) MY BIG GIRL GAH.
When she first watched all the Star Wars movies with Toby she was immediately intrigued by Darth Vader. After worrying about it some we decided to just embrace it. Only Leighton...
Sweet sisters. Gracen had a bit of a hard time with the day being all about Leighton. We tried to explain her day would be next month. Sister competition is a struggle at times. Shew. But then they take a picture like this and fool everyone into thinking they are BFFs all the time. We'll just pretend they are :))
Present time!
The American Doll she just KNEW she was getting from Grammy. Turns out she was right. Introducing Layne Danielle :) She is a nut.
And Nana completed the birthday by getting the American Girl Horse! Layne has been getting lots of riding lessons haha.
Nothing beats an ice cream Darth Vader cake :) Leighton's favorite things smashed together!
She insisted on eating his head :) And I totally thought she would finish every drop but she didn't. Pacing herself with ice cream?? Must be a six year old thing. Growing up I guess lol.
These boys are just the funniest together. They are either completely ignoring each other or they are wresting over a toy or just staring at each other. Anything other than looking at a camera at the same time for their Mommies haha. It was their first fourth so of course we had matching outfits planned for months :)
I just love watching these two grow up together!
A few family pics as a party of five :) And one with our big six year old. Seriously sounds so much older than five to me! And let's not even call her a first grader because gah that's too BIG!
On her actually birthday morning she came bouncing down the stairs to open her present from us. Her very own iPad mini :) She picked out a blue cheetah case for it and we took her to do a few fun things around town. I kinda like stretching out the birthday celebrations for my kids :)
My beautiful Leighton Layne. I can't believe you are six! Celebrating you is one of my favorite things! xoxo

Love her! She is such a doll :)
