I knew we were in for a good day when I poked my head outside Saturday morning and saw a long lost friend had appeared...SUNSHINE. It really amazes me how a little sunshine can make anything seem better. We opened a couple of windows during the day to enjoy the fresh air (someone secretly left those windows open ALL night because they got a little too excited). The CATS win against Ole Miss seemed like icing on the cake for the day.
We decided to head to church since we are really trying to get our little princess comfortable with the nursery and the class is much smaller on Saturdays. Dropping her off in the nursery gives me a LOT of anxiety but we have decided to keep trying and hope that she eventually starts to like it (maybe just a little even).
Before church we headed outside. Toby taught her to say "cheese" when she smiles. It is pretty cute.
Here is what she did when we told her it was time to head to church.
When we dropped her off at church she started to freak when she saw we were leaving. Seeing the nursery was a little crowded for a Saturday (so much for planning mama) we told the teacher not to feel bad to page us if she kept up. So, needless to say, we were quite shocked when the service was over and our little pager was still buzz free. Walking up to the nursery we jokingly talked about the odds she was going to get a "good report." I put her at 7-1 and Toby laughed that he had a little more faith in her and gave her 5-1.
We couldn't believe it when we peaked our heads in the window and saw her playing on the floor with two other kids. She had a baby doll in both hands and seemed to be fine. We were so excited to scoop her up that we must have startled her a little because the second she saw us her lip started quivering and she teared up. It was like she just remembered how much she missed us. Sweetness and two VERY proud parents. I think we beamed the whole way to dinner! Saturday was a success!
Sunday also had success written all over it. The sun was still shining and the CATS pulled off another win against Florida to grasp the title of 2011 SEC champions! We grilled out for lunch and just enjoyed all the great things that a lazy Sunday has to offer.
Sometimes a whole lot of nothing can add up to be a whole lot of something great. That's exactly what this weekend was in a nutshell. Seriously, I am still beaming from the festivities especially the A+ nursery report!!! (totally deserves 3 exclamation points).
