A Christmas Story 2014

Once upon a time, a family of five was sick and on a Christmas quarantine...

There were high fevers (105 oh my) and coughs and just plain old feeling icky. No fun at Christmas. Instead of getting dressed up and heading to their family festivities...this little family got all dressed up but didn't leave the house.

But a Baby's First Christmas Eve outfit MUST be documented...and he looked just adorable.

And a Daddy and little girl headed to church to give all the money that little girl had saved to the offering, only the service didn't collect an offering on Christmas Eve...

So that sweet little girl and her Daddy went to Waffle House and split a waffle and left a big tip :) They made it home just in time to change into the PJs left by Little Elf and pour the reindeer food in the front lawn.

And sometime during the night, Santa came and blessed those kids with lots of gifts from their list... and the parents could NOT wait to see those children's faces in the morning...

The very tired Mommy who was up all night checking on a very sick little sister and up at dawn feeding a very hungry little baby boy, woke to the sounds of giggling and glee a little before 8 am. And she followed those giggles down the hall to an open gate and down the stairs and found two very VERY sneaky little girls filled with JOY and playing with all of their gifts from Santa...

WITHOUT WAKING THE MOM AND DAD FIRST!

The little one was dancing around the room...

And that Mom made the girls march back upstairs so their Daddy could get the video camera ready, except that video camera was DEAD! SO instead that Mom took a couple pictures of that sweet baby boy on his very First Christmas and let the sneaky little girls come back downstairs...

The children were joyful when they saw and played with their toys...for the SECOND time that Christmas morning. And the Mom started to forget that she was annoyed because seriously they were SO filled with joy and the Dad wouldn't stop laughing at the little sneaks...

Then the family all opened gifts from one another and all was happy and fun on this Christmas morning...

But then the littlest girl's fever started to spike again and she had to change out of her onesie fleece PJs into a cooler nightgown... and the parents had to call family and tell them they wouldn't be joining them again for the family festivities... wahhhh wahhhh. But then they all opened some more presents and all was happy and fun again...

The Mom totally meant to get the video camera out after it charged but totally forgot her plan...SO the pictures are all she has to remember of that sweet little baby boy's very First Christmas. She does remember how much he loved the wrapping paper...

After that busy morning of opening presents the two little girls (one very sick and one still recovering from days before) headed upstairs and took a 4.5 hour nap...so the house was very quiet and the Mom and Dad had lots of snuggles with the baby boy...

And the rest of the day was spent together as a family playing with all the new toys and games and cuddling and watching movies. The Christmas quarantine was not what anyone had planned but was a wonderful day anyway...

It may have even taught the very organized and very planned Mom a very important lesson on planning...

Merry Christmas! Hope yours was a little more "according to plan" than ours but still FULL of just as much LOVE! Sickness and all we had enough love to fill an ocean. Our three babies are the only gifts and plans we needed for a successful Christmas Day!!!
