Tiny Dancers

Last weekend was the grand finale to the 2014-15 dance season!  The girls had their recital on Saturday afternoon.  It was Gracen's first year dancing and she was oh so excited.  This year Leighton had a ballet and a tap dance so she had two costumes, two hairstyles and two dances!  They looked like little dolls!

Here they are before dress rehearsal.  Gracen was SO ticklish with the makeup and I barely got mascara on her haha.  They both loved getting dolled up.

We had lots of sponge roller action going on at our house haha.  Thankfully both my girls don't mind sponge rollers and their hair holds the curl well.  There is no way I could've done all those curls individually haha.

Leighton's tap dance was to "Lollipop" and her ballet dance was to "Let It Go."  both costumes were so adorable!  The Frozen dress was so beautiful on stage.

Leighton is one of the only little girls I know that never really got bit by the "Frozen" bug.  She's watched the movie but isn't obsessed and she didn't really think it was a big deal to get to do this dance like some of the girls in the studio.  But, I have to say that all changed once she got in this costume.  I have never seen her love something girly SO much.  She absolutely loved it.  She did make a pretty good Elsa :)

Gracen's dance was a tap number to "You've Got a Friend in Me" and it was so freaking cute.  She was so into the dance and concentrating SO hard.  It was hilarious in a cute and perfectly Gracen way.  I mean SO adorable.

Gracen loved that her costume was blue and she had pink gloves.  She was a little torn up that Leighton had two costumes and she just had one haha.  My girls are always competing about something ;)  Gracen is my girly girl so I just knew she was going to love how she looked all dressed up and she did!

After the show, the girls changed and went back on stage for awards.  They all danced to Uptown Funk and my girls were dancing so hard.  I think I could watch little kids dance all day long.  Not many things are more adorable!

After awards the girls got flowers from all of their fans that came to watch (Grammy, Great Nanny, Nana and Aunt Ky Ky...Poppy stayed home with little brother).  The girls felt so special and loved!

Toby and I were so proud of our little bugs.  They did such a good job and most importantly had so much fun dancing on stage.  They're definitely on a recital high and love taking their trophies wherever they go.  Leighton who was on the verge of quitting last year and then again this year has solemnly sworn to "dance for the rest of her life!" Haha!  She is a nut!

Being a girl Mommy sure is fun.  Especially at dance recital time :)  Love my two little tiny dancers!!!
