Mallrat

When Leighton was a baby we took a weekly trip to the mall. She was a mallrat before she could walk. She loved shopping, always content to ride in her stroller and soak up the scenery (girl shares a love for people watching with her mama) and was the perfect shopping partner. Ahh, the good ole shopping days :)

Baby sissy has been with us five months now and I'm still not quite ready to venture solo into the shopping world with two in tow. It may have something to do with a solo trip to Hobby Lobby and only one stroller and a loose toddler in the ceramics aisle. Otherwise known as panic attack on aisle 5.

We don't get out much these days and I'm pretty sure my two and half year old diva is missing her second home. She is constantly asking to go "shop" and when we do go out she never wants to go home constantly begging for "one more store pease mama." I don't really understand her shopping love because it's not like we go to toy stores but she's totally content to go from clothing store to clothing store. Happily along for the ride. The other day I brought her home three new bows and when I showed them to her she got all giddy and said, "aw man dose are soooooo cute!" Not your typical two year old when it comes to shopping.

Toby and I took the girls to the mall last night and after we got home I got to looking at a few pictures we took during our shopping excursion and it totally makes sense why she loves the mall so much.

It may have something to do with the fact that we took her to get some "cake" beforehand. Cheesecake to be exact and we ALL know this girl has a deep love for sweets :)

Then we moved on to the fountains where she made wishes and threw pennies in the water. If there's anything she loves more than sweets...well there isn't but she does love water. Baby fountains to be exact :)

She also found a "Koo-Kay" outfit for her and baby sissy. The perfect addition to her wardrobe and just in time for blue day at school.

Finding a big red car to drive was a highlight of her trip even if she did have to fight off a little boy who tried to jump aboard!

Playing a round of chess with two preteen boys would have been the cherry on top for her night but her mama wouldn't let her and she was NONE too happy about it! She may have taken out her frustration and karate kicked a 'caution when wet sign' when walking out the door :/ Toddler mini meltdown = Great reminder of why I don't go out without backup these days. Just in case I started to get all confident and think it's easy or something :)

Not that this one caused me any trouble though. She was the perfect little angel sleeping the entire time. A new mallrat in the making?!!

Two mallrats sounds like trouble. Especially for one Daddy and his credit card ;)

  1. Kyle loved the mall when he was little too. Lyla not so much. We almost never go anymore. I miss going.
