This weekend I went to Nashville for a bachelorette party for one of my BFF's, Monica. It was the first time I had been on a girls trip in FOUR years. Four years PEOPLE! I was hesitant to leave my babies but Toby assured me he had it all under control and I am so glad I went. It. was. SO. fun. We laughed for two days straight and I definitely will not be waiting four more years for another one!
The first night we went out for dinner and dancing. There was a kareoke moment from the bachelorette that was priceless. We were ALL tearing up from laughing so hard.
During the day Saturday we had a limo tour of Nashville. It was the perfect way to relax from the night before and catch up with what else...more laughing :)
Saturday night we had a yummy dinner at The Palm and more dancing. Such a great weekend!
I got home Sunday evening and was met with sweet little kisses and hugs. I missed my little girls so much and my sweet hubby did such a great job playing Mr. Mom! His Mom came up to help so I was glad the girls had some time with their Nana! We don't get to see her enough!
On Monday we decided to take the girls to the pool! The sun was shining and it was so hot so really the only way to enjoy the outdoors was to be by a pool :) Leighton was SO excited. When we told her it was time to go she got so hyper and was talking a mile a minute. "Mama, I'm going to drink my water, wear that pink swimsuit, sit in my carseat, get my towel, sit by my sissy, go to that pool, splash in the water, put on that sunscreen, eat a snack, see my Daddy..." She is REALLY into making lists out loud. Such a little Mama :)
We decided to make it a rule from the beginning that anytime she was going to get wet she HAD to wear her lifejacket. If you give her a rule from the start she generally doesn't have any trouble following it. She was so excited to get in the water I think I could have convinced her to do anything at that point haha. She is really such a sweet little girl.
Little Sis had the best time too. She sat in the water and played with her water toys and just watched all the kids play. She was so laid back.
Leighton loved splashing in the water (and getting splashed by the big kids haha), floating on her back in her lifejacket and jumping off the side of the pool. She was also content to sit back and do a little people watching.
Gracen was content doing whatever we wanted her to. She was seriously so laid back the whole day and never made a peep. She also had some water from a sippy cup for the first time. She thought she was REALLY big stuff!
After a full day at the pool (and a few short tears from our water bug who was sad to leave) we met my sister, brother-in-law and niece for pizza. They were in town to drop a friend off at the airport and Leighton was so happy to hang with her cousin/BFF, Lyla. They had the best time at dinner and Leighton cried to ride in "Robby's car" when we left.
We came home and finished off the day by sitting on the front porch and eating ice cream sandwiches. All in all a great weekend!
