Gracen, the wild woman, had her two year old check up yesterday. Just like we thought, she's a tall machine and really really hates going to the doctor. She pretty much cried crocodile tears from the moment they called her back until it was all over. Luckily there were no shots, I'm not sure she could have taken much more ;)
Here are the drama queen's stats...
Height: 36.5 inches (97th percentile)
Weight: 31 lbs (90th percentile)
Head: 48.5 cm (75th percentile)
Gracen is definitely my determined child. If she doesn't want to do something there is NO talking her into it. Ever. She beats to her own drum and is super independent. She loves to work puzzles and build with blocks. She never gets frustrated and will work and work until she can get each piece the right way. When she finishes one of her "masterpieces" she will shout "TA-DAAAAAAAA!"
She is SO loving to the ones she loves. She wakes up in the BEST moods and is always quick to give her great big bear hugs. She is gaga over her Daddy and will say all day long, "Daddy go bye-bye, Daddy at woooooorrrrrk." When he gets home she is the first to jump down and run to him. She truly thinks he is amazing and hilarious.
She is a great eater and will pretty much eat anything we put in front of her. She loves yogurt, strawberries, grapes, apples, granola bars, spaghetti, tacos, steak...I can't really think of anything she doesn't like lol. She drinks milk or water but seems to prefer water if she has the choice.
Her vocabulary is increasing everyday but I still think she is a little late to talk. She is not quiet, by any means, she jabbers and talks all day long but I would say only about 25% of what she is saying I can actually make out haha. Her doctor seems to think it's no big deal and because she does use several 2-3 word sentences that it will all catch up eventually. Most of the time Leighton will speak for her or because Gray is so independent she will just get what she wants without asking ;) Her favorite word is MINE.
Gracen is super coordinated. She can run and kick a ball. Hit a ball with a bat and climb any and everything. She loves to play outside and slide. Oh how she loves to slide. Toby has been teaching her how to peddle her tricycle and I have no doubt she will have it down pat super soon. We have been been playing switcheroo with all the furniture upstairs and ended up turning Gracen's bed into a full bed and putting together Leighton's old crib in the guest room. Gracen has been taking naps in her big girl bed but still sleeping in the crib at night. I'm pretty sure she won't tolerate sleeping in the crib much longer. She runs to her rooms and yells, "Mah BED, mah BED!"
Watching Leighton and Gracen's relationship grow is one of my greatest joys as a Mama. They are double trouble and are always together and up to something. We call Gracen, Leighton's minion because she will do anything her Big Sis tells her to do. And she has to have EVERYTHING exactly the same as big sis. If Leighton is wearing a headband, Gracen must have one too. If Lei is eating yogurt, Gracen will insist on having one too. Leighton and I were laughing the other night because Lei had blue marker all over her nose and Gracen was watching us and laughing too. The next thing I know Gracen comes in, blue marker in hand, with blue all over her nose too. She has to be just like big sis at all costs :)
Here are Big Sis' stats at 2...
Height: 35 inches (85th percentile)
Weight: 28 lbs (70th percentile)
Big healthy princesses. Love them SOOOOOOOOO!
