I mean who doesn't love the weekend? Since Toby works in healthcare we don't always get your typical M-F work week so weekends together seem few and far between. This weekend was his weekend OFF and he was out of town on a "boys" trip Friday so the girls and I headed to Lexington for some family time with my parents & sisters.
Both of my girls were SO excited to see their cousin Lyla. I'm pretty sure they are the President & Vice President of the Lyla Kate fan club :) How sweet are these cousins???
Leighton & Lyla were taking Amos and Sage around the house on a train ride. Luckily both dogs cooperated :) Gracen was in bed at this point already but had she been awake she would've been right there in the mix. She loves playing with the big girls.
Saturday morning my older sister, Robyn, and I took the girls to get their first official pedicures. Oh my, the cuteness factor was at an all time high :)
Leighton has had a polish change at the nail salon several times but never the full on pedicure. She totally thought she was big stuff! They loved the chairs.
Ultimately they both decided on pink polish with glitter. Their matching shoes were an added bonus to the cuteness factor. My sister and I got pedicures too so it was a fun girly morning of pampering :) Every weekend needs one of those!
After the salon I left the girls with my parents for the night and headed back home. Our friends were having a poker night so we decided to take advantage of our alone time and head over for some friendly kid-free fun. I played poker for the first time and Toby ended up getting second place. It was a great Saturday night!
The next morning we slept in which was won.der.ful but we missed our girlies a lot! We ended up working on the house and getting some things done before we headed to the Bruno Mars concert. My sweet parents brought the girls home to us and then stayed with them while we went to the concert. SO blessed to have wonderful grandparents (on both sides) for our girls!
Toby and I were on a mission to eat sushi before the concert but each place we went was closed on Sundays. Boo. So we ended up eating at a little place called Dish on Market and it was yummy. Though I'm still craving some sushi :)
After dinner we headed to the concert. It was awesome. I may have even bought a tshirt and put it on right away :) It was so soft I could not resist. Dork alert.
We had such a great time. I love Bruno Mars, his voice was great live. It's amazing how some quality time with your best friend (hubby) can help you feel recharged as a parent. This weekend definitely recharged me and I am ready to face this week.
Leighton's tonsillectomy is scheduled for Thursday (for sleep apnea) and I am a nervous wreck. Welcoming all prayers for my baby.
Plus, this is happening today during nap time (Gracen is in her big girl bed...heading out to get toddler rails today)...And yes those are dog stairs leading up to her bed haha, she insisted! We have a crib in our guest room she's been sleeping in at night but today she would have NONE of the crib business :/ I should have known.
These girls are trying to grow up too fast on their Mama!!!
Happy Monday! Hope you felt some weekend love as well :)
