Date night with Beyonce

So last night was the long awaited Beyonce concert...5 months and then some if you were wondering :) Toby got me tickets for my 30th birthday in July. She was just great as expected. The lady is a Q.u.e.e.n.

The girls were excited because their favorite babysitter Miss Danielle got to come over and play for a loooong time :) Toby and I decided to take full advantage of our date night and ate at Morton's Steakhouse before. It was so good. Scallops, salad, filet, horseradish potatoes, mushrooms...SO good.

Before we left we had Danielle snap a pic of us. Date nights (alone!) must be documented :)

Because I have trained taught my girls so well, they insisted on jumping in our picture haha. (and just in case you thought my girls are dressed adorable with bows 100% of the time, this pic is proof that they are NOT haha, sometimes they don't even wear pants! da cat is out of da bag O_O)

Beyonce was amazing but some of my favorite moments came before the show watching everyone dance. People watching people dancing is my favorite :))) So fun! This one guy was particularly into the wobble and then someone came over and gave him and his friend stage side seats. That made me tear up. DORK alert.

I also teared up when Beyonce leaned down to a little girl and told her how very beautiful she was. What a memory for that girl. So sweet. And the tears came again when she was singing "Irreplaceable." I was a mess apparently ;) *

Spending time with Toby was so fun. He is always a great sport about being my date to my "girly" concerts (though I think he enjoyed this show as much as me for sure, it may have had something to do with how stunning Beyonce is...like drop dead gorgeous!). Date nights are the best.

*I think all the tears last night had something to do with Missy and my grief lately. Missy loved Beyonce (I still laugh thinking about her doing the Single Ladies dance, she was good at it!) and knowing how much she would have loved to be there at the concert just tugged at my heart. I feel a lot of Missy heart tugs lately.

And as if the show didn't tug at my heart enough...Beyonce released an itunes album today and the track "Heaven" made my heart skip a beat. Truly. And then there's the video. Oh my. It's just beautiful and made me think of Missy so much. Tears were falling down my face as I watched the video but at the same time it made me feel peaceful. Please remember her sweet family in your prayers this Holiday season.
