Party Queen

We went to a wedding this weekend for one of my best friend Becky's older sister, Emily. I thought about leaving Leighton with my parents but decided to bring her along for the fun instead. OhMMMgee I can not explain to you what a blast she had! She was having the time of her life. She loved all the food and ate a ton (chicken, green beans, salad, potato salad and rolls) which surprised us because she has been a little picky lately and of course, she loved the cupcakes (they were super yummy). Here is a picture my friend Monica took of Leighton loving the icing!

We had mentioned the "party" to her all day long hoping she would get excited but just how excited she got was so cute to us. She wanted to be right in the middle of all my girlfriends. Please look at her holding my friend Lauren around the neck. She is such a little mime!

I swear if Toby and I would have left her with all the girls she would have been happy. She wanted to dance with them (not us) all night and loved all the attention she was getting. It was great to see my girls. I live about an hour away from most of them (almost four hours from Monica) and we don't get to spend as much time together as we used to. We've all known each other since high school and have been close through the years. I don't think many groups of girlfriends last as long as us and I am so proud of our friendship! We were missing a key BFF, Missy, who wasn't at the wedding, so I can't say our group was totally complete (no party is complete without Missy!) but it was great to spend time with everyone. Here is Leighton with Becky, my college roommate and sweetest BFF ever.
Becky and her sister were both maids of honor and gave a speech that had EVERYONE tearing up. I love sisters and am so happy Leighton will get to share that bond with Baby G. I looked over at Toby during the speech and couldn't help but think of ours girls and how they would hopefully be each other's maids of honor someday :)

Here is a picture of Leighton and my newly ENGAGED BFF Monica! I can not tell you how excited I am for this wedding, it is a long time in the making :) Monica was one of my bridesmaids and I am so honored to be one of hers next summer when she says "I DO" to her fiance Rob! Her ring is so beautiful and her proposal story is so perfect. I'm trying to get her to start a blog to keep us all informed about her wedding plans. DO IT MON-MON!!
Leighton's smile looks a little worn out here lol. We did make her take a million pictures and she said "cheese" for every.single.one. Her face doesn't show the joy she was having at the wedding and I'm pretty sure she wanted us to all get back to the dance floor.

I just realized I haven't posted a picture of the beautiful bride yet. Here was my first attempt at a picture of their first kiss during the ceremony.
Obviously, it was a total fail. I was way off with my timing (this was just after) but you can see her beautiful dress and the happiness in both of their faces so I think it was a success afterall :)

Later I sent Toby to get a picture of them cutting the cake cupcakes. He did much better than me :) Look how sweet they were!

I love weddings! I seriously love every wedding I go to. There is something so special about watching two people so in love promising to love each other for the rest of their lives. I am a total sucker lol. Every wedding I go to makes me think about my wedding day and I can't help but smile. I can't believe I will be married three years this October and this little family of three will be a family of four by then :)

Weddings are the start of a life together and a beautiful journey. I was so happy to share Emily & Brent's special day with them and I know our little dancing queen was glad she came along for the party. It was grand :)

Side note: My sister and I realized after the wedding that one of the photographers was her cousin Jason of Jasperfish photography. Such a coincidence. He is also going to be the photographer for my precious cousin Chelsi's wedding next April. Go check him out, he does awesome work!
