I know by this point in pregnancy most people are ready to kiss their pregnancy goodbye and talk about everything they miss about not being pregnant. But for me, as the weeks and days count down I can't help but get sentimental about all the things I will miss about pregnancy. I think it is so amazing that the baby you will nurture and love throughout the years spends nine months tucked inside your belly as a part of you.
I will miss the smiles from strangers when out in public.
I will miss eating what I want with mostly no guilt.
I will miss the kicks and wiggles and the hiccups that come from my belly.
I will miss my afternoon naps (and sometimes morning ones too) where I relax and think about what she is doing.
I will miss wearing shorts with elastic bands and comfy sundresses.
I will miss the pregnancy glow and shiny hair.
I will miss the questions from strangers and stories about their own pregnancies or families (except the rude comments, I won't miss those, lol).
I will miss wearing my maternity bathing suit because no one judges the body of a pregnant woman.
I will miss my random cravings that taste so so good once fulfilled.
but most of all...
I will miss having her with me at all times.
As much as I will miss pregnancy and all the wonderful things it brings, nothing can compare to the first time you hold your baby in your arms and see their little face. I am really looking forward to that!
A week or so to go...
Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God. --Job 37:14
love this post Mandy! It's a gift to be able to appreciate the moment and enjoy it. Too often we are thinking ahead and planning for the future and then we look back and wished we had really enjoyed life while it was happening. I loved being pregnant and can't wait to experience it again. It's an amazing thing.
ReplyDeleteps - I posted this last night, but it doesn't look like it showed up so sorry if you are getting this twice!
