Leighton's Wiggly Party

We had Leighton's birthday party on Saturday and it was a "Wiggles" theme! We kept it small this year and had such a fun day. Leighton played and played until I forced her to go to bed after 10. I think she had a successful party :)

**Warning picture overload ahead**

The decorations were a mix of homemade crafts, etsy purchases and lots of online shopping. I think it all turned out pretty cute (if I do say so myself).

Candy table

Picture wall from the last year. It all goes so fast!

Candy favor bags that say "Leighton's Wiggly Party. It was sweet of you to celebrate with us!"

Painting my MIL did for a centerpiece. It turned out so cute. Leighton & The Wiggles :)

Book we had all the guests sign

The Best of the Wiggles playing in the background. Made many guests jump for joy ;)

The food was all named after songs from the Wiggles Show. Leighton's favorite song is "Hot Poppin' Popcorn." I later realized it was kind of mean to have a treat that I won't let her eat (not until she's 10 anyway) ;)

Fruit salad (yummy, yummy), cheese tray & cold spaghetti salad

Hot potato chips and dip

Big Red firehouse subs

When my cousin Chad saw the food he immediately made fun of me for labeling everything. Especially the cheese tray. A little later I noticed someone had labeled the plates, napkins and silverware. Funny guy :)

He's single ladies, start lining up ;)

The birthday girl in her Wiggles outfit. She has decided in the last week that smiling for pictures is SO last year. Sigh, I am learning to deal with it ;)

She doesn't stop smiling, however, when she's around these two. Cousin love & BFF's!

The girls eating their food. I can't believe we're adding another girl to the bunch in just a few weeks! Poor Kyle ;)

Soaking it all in outside

Time for presents! She got so many special gifts and really got the hang of opening the presents this year! My Nanny and Mom bought her a new wardrobe for school. I can't believe she starts in six weeks!!

On her actual birthday, my Mom, sister and kids came over for lunch and cake. We sang to Leighton and she started crying. Turns out our little diva doesn't always enjoy being the center of attention! This time around I decided to just hold her while we sang. It worked, no tears!

Insisted I blow out her candle :)

Silly Kyle

She loves bring outside

During the party I was looking all over for the girls and Toby. I finally found them up in Leighton's bathroom putting on make-up and painting fingernails. The things that Dads will do for their girls...priceless :)

The girls loved getting to ride on Great-Grandmom's chair

Time for wagon rides!

The girls managed to sucker my Uncle Scott, The Grill Man, into taking them on a walk!

The only part of the day Leighton didn't enjoy was when people started to leave. She is NOT a fan of saying goodbye, it hurts her feelings. My mom and Nanny call her the little shepherd because she likes to have everyone around her at all times. She actually refuses to say "bye" to anyone. She does this to Toby and me and to any guests we have over. It is adorable and sad at the same time.

Hiding so she doesn't have to say bye :(

Thanks to all of our family for coming over and celebrating such a special day with us. These past two years have been an adventure and so so wonderful. I look forward to many more parties to come! I can't resist putting a smile on this perfect little face ;)

  1. Mandy! I am so glad you put these pics up, I sorta kinda feel like I was there, what with the face time and all :) That is another thing LDL shares with her auntie sis-- HATE saying bye! She is so dang cute, but I don't have to look hard to find out where she gets it from (you and Tobes are pretty cute yourselves). Anyway, Chad is HILARIOUS... and you did SUCH a great job on her party moo... I feel sorry for my future kids! You seriously should consider opening a party planning company....well, in a couple of years. I can imagine you may be a little "busy" for the next 2 ;) LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH SIS!

    1. Oh no maybe her shop has closed as this party was almost 3 years ago :( My Etsy invoices don't even go back that far. The entire outfit was custom made and included the logo. Maybe you could find another seamstress on Etsy who could try and recreate. Sorry I cant be of more help!
