Splish, Splash, Summertime!

It's been one HOT summer! The heat index has creeped into the triple digits lately. We've tried to spend as much time poolside or waterside as possible :) For Leighton's birthday we took her and my nephew, Kyle, to a small waterpark for the day. They had a blast. I think Toby had as much fun as Kyle did :) I realize these pictures are a few weeks old but they are still worth sharing. My girl loves summer just like her mama!

It was a great way to spend her second birthday. She is such a little girl and it's so fun to be able to take her on new adventures and watch her enjoy things. Love.

Last week, we decided to try out the new spray ground that just opened near our house. The bonus is it's FREE :) We weren't sure if she would enjoy it because she is very cautious of new things but we decided to head over for the morning and give it a try.

She would have stayed on the playground all day if we would've let her. She absolutely loves to swing and run and play but it was just too hot! We took her back through the fountains one more time and headed home for lunch and a nap. I'm excited to try the spray ground again. Hopefully, the heat will calm down and we can try this week. It is a great way to pass the time and get a little exercise in. Not to mention it is FREE :) There is a smaller one being built at the park around the corner from our house so I am super excited for next summer when I can take both girls to play!
