What we've been doing (with pictures)

Life slowed back down this week and I think I've finally caught my breath after our crazy schedule from the past few weeks. We've been doing a whole lot of nothing. Really random post = bullets = I will bribe you to read with pictures!

-Leighton had her 2 year old well-baby check-up. She weighed 28 lbs (70th percentile) and was 35 inches tall (85th percentile). Thinking our girl is going to be tall like her Daddy :)

-We've been spending some time outside on her new swing set she got for her birthday. Toby and his Dad spent an entire day (in the heat & humidity) putting it up for our princess.
We still have to put the slide and rock wall on but it has swings and that's all she really cares about!

-My house is a disaster. No matter how much I clean it is torn apart in a matter of minutes. I try to make sure the dishes are done every night so at least I have ONE clean room in my house. The family room is a lost cause with the bazillion toys and pieces Leighton gets out every.single.day. I know the chaos mess is only going to get worse when #2 arrives so I am trying to deal with it. I would include a picture of what my living room looks like on a daily basis but it is really too embarrassing ;)

-Our double stroller arrived :) Amos has been happy to fill in for baby G while we test drive it around the house.
I decided to go the neutral route with the color "stone." Almost went with red but couldn't stomach the thought of pushing my girls around Louisville in Cardinal colors ;)

-Had my 35 weeks appointment and found out that I'm 2cm already. Doctor said I need to be taking it easy for the next couple of weeks (thinking she has forgotten what it's like to have a toddler) and call the office if my contractions become regular. I've been having pretty regular BH contractions and a few painful ones but I'm hoping little girl stays put for a few more weeks. I REALLY want to make it until August since my doctor is on vacation the last week of July. I'm crossing my fingers! I blame the 2cm business on all the dancing at the wedding we went to last weekend.
Seriously, the boys were dancing machines :)

-Leighton has been having trouble sleeping at night. She wakes up around 11:30pm and likes to stay awake until after 1am. I'm hoping it's a phase and we can get it all sorted out in the next few weeks otherwise I am going to be one tired mama. She is on the brink of speaking in complete sentences (right now 3+ words at a time) so we think this new milestone could be causing the sleep issues. She is thinking all the time about everything so maybe when she wakes up in the night she just has too much on her mind to fall back asleep :)

-Leighton is doing so many cute things lately. The cute moments make the tantrums tolerable (seriously are ALL girls such DIVAS?). One of my favorite things she is doing is saying "Ohhh yeah" when I ask her a question. She also has a million different facial expressions, she is so animated. Toby told her she couldn't climb on the booth at dinner the other night and she looked him square in the face, rolled her eyes and threw her head back as if she had never been more annoyed! Again, D-I-V-A!

-Speaking of DIVAS, did anyone see this week's episode of Toddler's & Tiaras? The mom who gives her toddler sugar cubes as treats??? My teeth were seriously hurting just watching. I won't even go into the fact that the kid acted like she didn't like her mom AT ALL and only wanted her Aunt. So weird, where do they find these people? Also, why do I watch? Oh yeah, it's a reality show...enough said :)

Those pageant divas have nothing on me!

Happy Friday everyone!
