27 things about Leighton Layne at 27 months :)
1. She loves to sing. Her Daddy made her a Wiggles cd for the car and she joyfully sings along. She tends to take after her mama with her "voice that carries" and only sings at one level...Loud!
2. Has started to find a love for tv, her "shows" as she calls them. Right now she is on a Little Bill kick but also loves Olivia or any show with a pig in it and Scooby Doo. Espcecially the episodes with the little Scooby (what is his name??!!) who she calls "baby Scooby."
3. Still loves babydolls with a passion. She has started to swaddle them in Gracen's blankets and will hold them for hours.
4. Loves to help cook. She carries this step stool around and climbs up on it like she knows what she is doing, lol. Loves to help make anything with the toaster and is a great mixer :)
5. Goes to bed around 8:30 or 9 every night and sleeps until 8:30 or 9 in the morning. Is the best little girl to put to bed. We wash her hands & face (on nights she doesn't get a bath), brush her teeth, get a "nite-nite treat" (Flintstones vitamin), read a book, say a prayer and off to sleep she goes. So thankful she is a great sleeper!
6. Not a big fan of getting her pictures made. I usually have to bribe her with something she wants (m&m, show, swing, walk, etc.) to get her to take a picture. She will also agree to a picture if we pretend we don't want one of her, toddler psychology at it's finest :) We got some beautiful pictures of her at two years that I can't wait to get back (it takes forever!).
7. Still a wonderful big sister. She is obsessed with helping to put on lotion after Gracen's bath and she loves to sit with her on a blanket and play with toys. SO sweet.
8. She's a pretty good eater. Of course she loves cookies and sweets but we limit those but she also loves cheese, granola bars and oatmeal. She loves to go into the pantry when she wakes up from her nap and look for a "snack!" On vacation she loved the shrimp & grits and has decided she loves green beans.
9. Takes one nap a day after lunch. It lasts anywhere from 2-4 hours. The girl loves to sleep like her mama!
10. She is a rough little girl. Loves to run, wrestle, jump and do somersaults. I wish I had her energy :)
11. Going through a "Mommy's girl" phase which makes me feel pretty special. She wants me to hold her a lot and loves to cuddle in bed and watch a show.
12. Loves when Toby gets home from work and runs to the garage to meet him. Thinks anytime Toby takes a shower that he's leaving for work, lol. Every night on vacation when we would get ready to go to dinner she would say, "Dada go to wooork?" She also yells, "boooooo" when he says he has to go to work.
13. Hair is getting long and we are still working on growing out her bangs. I have to keep them clipped back when we are at the house. She loves to climb up on her bathroom sink and pick out a "clippie" to wear in the mornings.
14. LOVED swimming in the pool on vacation. Asks all the time if we can go to the pool. Grammy told her when she goes #2 in the potty she will take her swimming.
15. Peed in the potty three times since we got back from the beach but is definitely not interested all the time. When I ask her if she has to go potty she will tell me, "No, get a diapahhh!"
16. She knows what she wants & always has!
17. She's obsessed with my breastpump. I'll leave it at that :)
18. Bosses Amie around like it's her job. She really loves him but still has to learn how to be gentle with the little guy.
19. Loves school and her teachers Ms. Trish & Ms. Katy. Was so excited to bring them back "baby shells" from the beach. They were tiny sand dollars.
20. Is going to REALLY love Halloween this year when she realizes that she is going to get candy. She loves candy with a passion.
21. Has a strong and stubborn personality. Will tell me "No!" and whip her head at me. I see an eye roll just around the corner.
22. Her temper has gotten a lot better. She still has moments but they seem to be less. Sits on the stairs when she is in trouble. Will always say "Sowwrrry" so she can get up.
23. Says her favorite color is pink.
24. If I ask Toby to do something she will usually stop me and say, "No Mama! I do it!!!"
25. Loves to swing, slide and play outside.
26. Has started listening to our conversations & putting in her two cents. The other night we were talking in the kitchen about needing to put her to bed and she chimed in, "I no go to bed today. Short nap."
27. Is pretty much the sweetest, cutest, most perfect little girl around!!
