Leighton's first concert...RED!

Leighton loves Taylor Swift. When I saw she was coming to concert in Lexington & Louisville I was so excited to get tickets and take her to her first concert. Then I saw the ticket prices and thought it was too much to spend. I worried since she's only three she wouldn't enjoy a concert and it may be too long to keep her attention.

But still, her love for Taylor grew. It grew and it grew and I still had the concert in the back of my mind. Then I saw the Louisville show was on the same night as her last soccer practice and the girl loves her soccer practices. So I decided to just abandon the thought of the concert. But as the Lexington show approached I still wanted to go. Have I mentioned I have a love for Taylor too ;) ? Ok, I am rambling. Bottom line. We got tickets a few days before the concert. Great seats at a great price! I was happy. Someone else was pretty happy too...

We headed to Lexington for a girls night. It was so fun to be able to spend some one on one time with my little Lei Lei. She was SO excited. She couldn't wait to put her cowboy boots on & get to the show. Once we were there I got us settled with snacks from the concession (pretzels & water per Leighton's request). I could tell the anticipation was building for her. Her eyes were seriously huge looking at the empty stage. She asked about a million times where Taylor was and I had to keep reminding her that there were two opening acts before she would come out. I got a little worried that she was going to be bored by the time it was show time. I was wrong.

The first opening act came on and a few songs in I could tell she was HOOKED. She wouldn't take her eyes off the stage and was dancing in her seat and clapping along with the crowd! Such a big girl. I tried to convince her that we should go take a potty break and get an ice cream cone but she wouldn't have it. "I don't want to miss my Taylor MAMA!" She was determined. I did eventually convince her that we WOULD NOT miss Taylor and she agreed.

Before Taylor came on we ran and got Leighton a tshirt. She spotted one she loved and insisted on getting that one even if it meant standing in line two separate times to find an XS. Anything for my baby :) The shirt was still too big but she didn't care at all and had to put it on right away. She's slept in it almost every night this week too. Best money I ever spent on a tshirt :)

When Taylor finally came out Leighton had a permanent smile on her face. I have said it before, there is truly nothing greater in life than watching your child enjoy something. I had tears in my eyes watching her sing at the top of her lungs and dance around. She kept waving at Taylor and making a heart with her hands. LOVE!

It was such a fun night. She fell asleep at the very end when Taylor sat down at the piano to sing but woke up without missing a beat when her very favorite "Never Ever" song came on. She is such a doll. After the concert we stayed at my parents house who were ironically in Louisville visiting my sister. We cuddled and laughed and stayed up way past her bedtime. The next morning my grandparents brought her pancakes (per her request, she wanted to stay in her PJs) and then we headed to church. Oh my, the love I have for this child intensifies with every passing day. I am so lucky to have a little BFF who is so much fun!
