School's out for SUMMER

Today was Leighton's last day of preschool and my oh my did this year FLY by. I have been weepy all week thinking about how fast she has grown and how much she has learned this school year. She has developed into a little lady and has loved every second of school this year.

She's grown 2.5 inches since September but has gained less than a pound. Tall and skinny just like her Daddy. She looks so grown up to me in the picture from today. I think all of her baby chub is officially gone :(

I can not say enough positive things about her preschool experience this year. I know God picked her teachers, Ms. Kathy & Ms. Katy, especially for Leighton and it has been such a blessing to watch her thrive with them this year. Leighton had Ms. Katy last year and I love that she was able to be with Leighton again this year and help shape her into a very special little girl.

My heart just bursts with thankfulness when I think of how much her teachers have taught her this year. She can spell and write her name, recognize all letters and numbers, count and draw. She knows how to use scissors and glue and LOVES to do projects.

Her love and awareness for Jesus has flourished and I am so thankful for a Christian environment that has nurtured this love. She talks about God and Jesus and loves to say prayers and read bible stories. She was telling Gracen the other morning about the little letter "t" and how it is shaped just like a cross that Jesus died on for her. She is such a special little girl with a huge heart.

She loves all her friends in her class and loves to tell me stories about them. Two of her friends Mamas are having babies and Leighton has been VERY inquisitive about when we will get another baby. She has let me know she would like this to be VERY SOON and she would like a baby BOY! I tried to explain to her that we don't get to choose (only God does) whether we have a boy or girl but she told me that she KNOWS God wants us to have a boy. Don't hold your breath for either of those wishes sweet girl :)

Happy summer to my little social butterfly. My sweet angel. My little Leighton Layne. I love you SO!
