In all the chaos that comes with finding a parenting balance one thing that never lacked in our house was the love Leighton had for her new baby sister. From the very first time she saw Gracen she expressed how much she loved her..."MY baby" she would say. She was always more than happy to hold her and kiss her. Once we brought her home the love continued. One morning she held her for almost thirty minutes sitting completely still and being so gentle. She amazed us then and still continues to amaze us each day.
There is so much sisterly love between these two. They love to be around each other. Gracen beams with joy when Leighton walks in the room and Leighton smothers her with love and kisses all.day.long.
When we go somewhere Leighton will always say, "My baby sissy go too?" and is always so relieved when the answer is yes. I hope they continue this love for each other through the years because there really is nothing like having a sister! I have two sisters and a cousin who is just like a sister to me.
Growing up I would watch my older sister, Robyn, curl her hair or lip the words to songs when we were riding in the car. I always thought she was the coolest. My little sister, Kylee, and I had a love sometimes not love relationship growing up ;) but today we are best friends. My cousin, Chelsi, and I are less than two years apart in age and I don't have many memories from growing up that don't involve her. I am lucky and so are my girls :)
The girls have entered a new season of their love now that Gracen is crawling and into EVERYTHING or mostly just anything that Leighton is playing with. Leighton tries her best to be patient with her and will usually run to find Gracen a "replacement" toy to play with. Sometimes I hear her yell, "Sissy that is MINE!!! MOMMY" but that's usually where it ends.
I'm sure they will have their moments growing up as all sisters do (Lord knows my sisters and I have had our moments...) but I pray they keep this love growing strong. At this rate they will be each other's college roommates and each other's Maid of Honor. A mama can dream can't she? :)

You are so lucky to have your sweet girls Mandy and we are all lucky to have such awesome women for cuzzies and sisters! I can't wait to HOPEFULLY have a little girl someday and they can be as close as we all are with your girls :) Love you so much!
