This week was Teacher appreciation week at Leighton's school. Let's be honest, preschool teachers (especially of two year old classes) need a lot of appreciation from us parents :) The school had arranged lunch for the teachers each day and our class was responsible for Tuesday. I got assigned a salad and decided to make my super easy pasta salad.
Mandy's super easy pasta salad:
-1 package spiral tri-colored pasta
-1/2 cup shredded carrots
-1 cup broccoli florets (cut up)
-1 cucumber (peeled & diced)
-1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
-1 cup of creamy italian dressing (I always use Kroger's brand)
Boil pasta, drain and run under cold water. Mix all ingredients and VOILA. See, super easy!
On Tuesday, in addition to the lunch, each kid brought a special card for each of their teachers (head teacher & assistant). I found this card at hobby lobby and loved it.
I wrote a special note inside to each teacher and asked Leighton what she would like to say. She said for both teachers, "I love you." I thought that was pretty adorable. We are so thankful for loving teachers for our special girl.
I wanted to do a little something special for each teacher this week. We all donated for a class present but I wanted Leighton to have something to actually give them each day. For Tuesday, we made up these little jars full of m&m's and attached a poem. Thanks again Pinterest for helping me put on a creative front :)
I bagged it all up with little sugar cookies Leighton decorated.
Thursday was flower day and Leighton of course insisted we bring her teachers pink flowers! She was insistent on this and once she saw the pink roses there was no changing her mind! Later I read that pink roses symbolize appreciation & thankfulness. How perfect. Little Leighton is so smart :) I tied on these little tags to add a little something extra (found them here).
At the beginning of the month we got a list of our teacher's "favorite things." I decided to bring in their favorite muffins. I boxed them in cupcake boxes and tied on a tag I found online that said, "Something sweet to rock your day."
It was a fun week. I love giving gifts and each gift was less than $2 to make. You seriously can't beat that. Leighton was so excited to take them to school each day. Tonight when she was eating dinner she randomly said, "Ms. Tish really liked dat flowah. I liked it too. I like pink." And then she did her little head shake. She is seriously SO adorable sometimes.
