Whew, the past few days have been a litte crazy. Especially weather wise (life with two is always a little crazy) :) We started on Thursday with sunny skies and warm temperatures. Leighton had lunch outside and got some sliding and swinging in too.
Friday the weather turned stormy and the whole entire state was on a tornado watch. I was a nervous wreck over the weather all morning and when Toby went in for his shift at 2 pm I had to pull it together. While the girls took their afternoon nap, I set up our makeshift shelter.
And you know what? We didn't even go in once. We saw mostly severe thunderstorms in our area and were thankfully spared any tornadoes. Other parts of our state and close cities weren't so lucky. Prayers to all of those affected by Friday's weather. Mother Nature sure is scary at times!
Saturday morning, the sun was out again and I was dressed and ready to do some shopping with Leighton. Just as I was about to walk out the door I noticed Amos (our chihuahua) wouldn't open his right eye. I cleaned it with a warm washcloth but still nothing. Fearing something bad was wrong with it I called the vet who said he needed to be seen immediately. SO, I rushed over to his office. The whole ride over Amos still wouldn't open it but the second and i mean SECOND we walked in the vet's office he popped it open. It was like he was saying, "I'm okay Mom, let's just go home....NOW!"
The vet took a look at him and $90 later we left with some expensive eye drops, a cone (he was none too happy about) and a follow up appointment for Monday morning.
I swear, if he would have just opened his eye at home or in the car I wouldn't have even taken him in but I was afraid it had popped out of socket or something and it freaked me out. Dramatic dog. Or maybe dramatic dog owner...
Leighton and I did finally manage to get around to our shopping trip but she was a total grump and not my usual fun shopping buddy. Hearing her scream that she was going to turn me into a "BOOBERRY!" (thank you Willy Wonka) quickly followed by "SuperSHAPES" (care of Umizoomi) no less than a hundred times and I was wishing I had gone solo.
Sunday, snow flurries came and went all morning and we packed up the girls (and Amos and his cone) and headed to Toby's hometown for the day. We hung out with Nana and Granddad and spent the evening celebrating our cousin Mollie's birthday. The big 1-3! :)
By the time we got home late last night it was snowing pretty hard. We woke up to almost five inches of white fluffy snow (BIG SNOW as Leighton called it) that will all be gone by tomorrow since it is supposed to be in the 60's. What is going on with this crazy weather?!
