Boo at the Zoo!

Tonight we headed over to the Zoo for some early trick or treating. We went last year, but what a difference a year makes! The girls had a lot of fun. It was chilly (why is it freezing???) but the sun was out and it was a beautiful family night :)

The girls wanted to save their "real" Halloween costumes for trick or treating. Luckily, we have a lot of random costumes laying around our house so a new choice was pretty easy. Leighton as Wonder Woman and Gracen as Minnie Mouse. LOVE.

The girls were excited about the chance to get candy. They had their treat buckets ready and waiting :)

Welcome to the Zoo! Gracen is smiling here but started to get a little weary of what was ahead. My wild child is not a fan of Halloween. Who would have thought???! The masks, spiders, ghosts, witches...all terrify her. She doesn't cry, just freezes in horror or hides her eyes. Sweet baby.

Toy Story soliders. No one wanted to take pictures with any of the Disney characters. Disneyed out from this summer still I guess ;)

Next up, face painting! It was only a dollar so we couldn't pass it up lol. Leighton chose the one and only Spiderman and Gracen chose Elmo. Both sat so still and were quite serious about the process.

All done! This is one of my favorite pictures EVER of Leighton. She is so happy to have her hero painted on her face ;)

Gracen was not sure what to think of all the fun. She was happy to hold out her bucket for the candy but was not a fan of the characters all around. Look how serious? Not to mention content riding in the stroller! Who is this toddler?!!

Gracen's face paint didn't stand a chance haha. Poor Elmo looks smooshed. Leighton's survived long enough to dry, thank goodness!

There were lots of characters to take pictures with; Disney, Shrek, Wizard of Oz, Animals... But, none of them got Leighton excited for a photo op. That is, until we ran into the superheroes. She jumped up and ran right over to take a picture with them. She showed Spiderman her face and told me how she REALLY loves Batman now. Haha, this little girl ;)

Before we left we stopped by to look at the pumpkin display. Leighton LOVED these. Especially Spiderman and Batman. She told Toby he had to make her a Batman pumpkin. However, as soon as she saw the ET pumpkin all of her Batman dreams went out the window. Now Toby must carve her an ET pumpkin haha. These were pretty neat.

Fun times with my little family. TGIF!

Great kickoff to our Halloween festivities!
