Bye-bye play class

I've been taking Leighton to a local play class since she was seven months old. She has enjoyed the social interaction & I've enjoyed the excuse to get out of the house without having to spend a ton of money (which is usually what happens when I shop solo). In the beginning, I loved taking her and I could tell she was really having fun. Lately though, I have felt like getting out each week for class is more of a chore. Not to mention it is getting much harder for me to chase her around for an hour!

We missed several classes the past few months when I have been really sick and then the pressure to make up the classes became another chore. I knew we had a busy summer coming up with our beach vacation for two weeks in May, surgery in June, her birthday in July and the new baby in August, so I felt like it was time to finally say "bye-bye" to play class.

Today was our last class. Of course we forgot our camera so the iPhone pictures will have to do :) Sorry for the bad quality (and for the several extremely awkward shots of mama)!!!

We started out with a little circle time...

Checking out her teacher...

Playing a little basketball & making Daddy proud with a dunk ;)

Sliding down one last time...

Tap tap tapping...

AND freezing...

Watching the bubbles...

Joining in on the fun...

Learning a new trick on the balance beam...

Saying goodbye to friends...

It was a great last class and a very sweet goodbye. We are thinking of returning in the fall for the family music class (gulp, I am really going to have more than one child soon) but I want Leighton to get settled in preschool first & me settled with having a newborn! We've had great times at play class over the past year but I guess all good things must come to an end at some point ;)
