Everyone was in such a happy mood before the game. We headed to church as a family to get some praying in for the boys in blue (kidding...) and Leighton had her best stay yet in the nursery. No tears!!!
When I picked Lei up from the nursery I was surprised to again be heckled by the nursery worker who told me the CATS were going down. I can definitely tell we don't live in Lex anymore, the Cards fans are abundant around these parts & apparently bitter ;)
Next, we headed to the grocery for steaks to grill. This is where my beloved husband left my sister, Lei and me in the car while he went on a shopping spree. We observed many a car come and go and even an entire FAMILY finish their shopping before he returned! I should have known better than to let him enter the store alone :) But he did return with five cases (yes five) of my new favorite drink on the planet (Ocean Spray Blueberry-Pomegrante Sparkling water) so I couldn't be too irritated with him ;)
We came home and changed into our UK gear for the game. Lei put on her JORTS!
She did a CATS cheer with her favorite Daddy!
So, after cheering our little hearts out we were pretty bummed when UK came up one point short in the end. Can we all agree that one point hurts worse than 10?!! We soooo had hoped this would be "our" year and things were pretty blue around here on Sunday.
A nap and some online shopping did ease the pain a little :) I ordered Lei a jumbo easter basket with her name on it. I really wanted to order the same one in opposite colors for baby girl no name BUT she still has no name so it really didn't make sense. Still, how precious is this?
After everything, today definitely feels like a Monday. Toby is headed to work for 11 straight days and I am left figuring out how to entertain my crazy monkey of a toddler by myself! I swear she has never had caffeine but she is bouncing.off.the.walls lately!
I DO have the excitement of ordering the new baby bedding and going through our baby name books (hey! these things are exciting to me) and of course, there is always the bright outlook for next year's CATS and the fact that we'll have one more little fan cheering with us then! That is enough to ease this broken blue heart...for now!
Oh my goodness, that smile is the sweetest thing! Love her :)
