Last year, Leighton was NOT a fan of the Easter bunny. We were on vacation in Florida and took her to the local mall to meet him and I think you can tell by the look on her face that she was not amused.
With Santa this year she was apprehensive and started to cry but went through with it once we suggested she show him her baby doll (baby dolls seriously cure almost anything in this house).
I was hoping this year's bunny meeting would go smooth or at least resemble our meeting with Santa. Welp, no such luck. This child is taking after her mama and seems to be TERRIFIED of anything in costume!
Here she is in my lap as the bunny walked up to his chair (we had been waiting 15 minutes on this bunny, he apparently took a loooooong lunch).
She had a DEATH GRIP on me and I started to realize that this meeting may not occur as planned. If I even mentioned going up to actually MEET this bunny the grip got tighter and she would whimper (pitiful I know).
We could have just left right then, I mean we KNEW it was not going to happen at this point, but still I couldn't resist just one more photo opt for the baby book ;) I told Toby to take her over to say, "Hi" and she immediately buried her head in his shoulder.
Leighton would not even look at him! Way too scared!
Okay, I promise we didn't keep torturing her and didn't make her actually try to sit in his lap. She was more than happy to eagerly wave and yell "BYE" at him. When we got in the car she looked so relieved and we got a couple of smiles out of her but I swear she was looking over her shoulder everywhere we went to make sure that bunny was not around.
LOL, you can't blame us for trying ;)

Haha!! We haven't taken Henry yet this year, but last year they could sit with the easter bunny, OR you could just get their pics with a live bunny. I think we might just do that again this year. I know the big guy will freak him out.
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest, the Eater Bunny is kind of terrifying. It's a GIANT rabbit that sneaks into your house and leaves a basket with...eggs... I don't blame her for being scared.
ReplyDeleteThe Easter Bunny is looking a little scary these days! I'm sure as a toddler it is really scary to see an oversized rabbit with glasses. I dont remember if I was ever scared of the Easter Bunny but my Mom says I wasnt scared of anything!
