Little Things

Lately I have been exhausted. It's the type of tired that makes your whole body feel like it is going to give out. Walking up stairs = running a marathon. Today I told my sister I was going upstairs to take a shower. I sat down on my bed for a second and the next thing I knew I was waking up almost two hours later. I know it's a mixture of chasing a toddler around (seriously in the last week she has cranked her energy level up 1,000 notches) and carrying a growing baby in my belly. I am SO thankful for both blessings and I know I won't stay tired forever...how much longer do I have left in this pregnancy & how long do the terrible two's last ;) ??

When life gets a little exhausting it's perfect to have the little things to remind you why it all matters.

Like blowing dandelions in the wind without a care in the world...

Toby captured this picture last week when we were outside enjoying the sunshine. We both admitted we hadn't taught her how to do this and then quickly realized it had to be my little sister, "Ky-Ky" since she watches Lei every week while we go to bible study. We both smiled from ear to ear watching her blow the dandelions. Toby didn't even care she was spreading weeds :)

Or having a much needed day away from being a full-time mama to spend some time with your husband and friends...

Toby and I went to Keeneland for the day last Friday and out to dinner afterwards. We won a little money, ate some DELICIOUS food, had some grown up conversations but most importantly we got to enjoy each others company. Toby had just come off of working 11 straight days so our day date (with friends) was the perfect breather for us. We are lucky to have family in Lexington who is ALWAYS willing to watch our little girl for the day.

And watching your little girl crack up at herself...

Watching her personality develop more and more everyday is amazing. She has started to find her inner comedian which we both say she gets from my mom. Lei is always trying to play tricks or find ways to make us laugh. She likes to pretend like her little hand is stuck inside her toy cup and desperately tries not to smile as she throws her covered hand up when I ask "Where did your hand go?" After I ask she pulls off the cup and laughs and laughs at herself. It is pretty dang adorable.

Being Holy Week, I am trying to remember all of my blessings and praising God for EVERYTHING and remembering HE controls the little things. Without him, nothing would be possible. In the day to day minutes of life it is sometimes hard to keep things in perspective, I'm happy I have a few pictures to help me remember.

Happy almost Easter everyone. I plan to spend some extra time praying this week and reflecting on the real reason for the celebration!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. --John 3:16
